Note to Self- DO NOT keep your workstation connected to the Inter-Tel phone system during a thunderstorm!

My network is protected by UPS's on every PC, Server, and phone system, etc. However as I found out (Twice to be exact) that the phone system can apparently get a surge and pass it on to your PC. I usually keep my system connected via the Comm port to our phone system to make changes. Well, I've toasted my system board twice due to this connection. Not fun! Anyways, Spoke to the phone guys today and they said this can happen and that there's something they can add to the phone or my PC that will prevent this from happening. Either way I'm not connecting that cable unless I need to from now on.

I know... Not SBS related however it is Network related.
